Washing Machine Repair – Common Issues

Some of the common issues we hear when receiving calls to help with washing machines are:

  • Vibrating Washer.
  • Leaky Washer.
  • Noisy Washer.
  • Washer Won’t Run.
  • Washer Won’t Drain.
  • Detergent Won’t Dispense.
  • Smelly Washer.

A washing machine not draining is one of the most common problems we encounter. The cause of the problem could be:

The drain hose or pump is clogged with a small item of clothing, lint or other debris have been trapped in the drain pump.

Some people feel this is a solution to handle without professional help, and could be in some instances, but working in and around the drain pump often times needs to be handled by a professional.

Appliance Repair Questions

Broken Appliance Frequently Asked Questions

There are often lots of scenarios in which you opt for appliance repair, especially in Houston whereas there are so many competing repair companies, new purchase solutions, and used purchase options when faced with a broken appliance.

To help you we are breaking down some of the most common questions and answers we believe will help you:

Should I pay to have my microwave repaired?

Microwaves are usually inexpensive to replace.  To pay for a repair may be higher than replacement unless, it is a built in, and/or if it matches your current set of appliances.  Microwaves are often cheaper to repair than you think but not very easy to repair.

My refrigerator is cooling on one side and not the other.

This is a common call we receive and if you are faced with that situation you probably have a sealed system whereas each side of your refrigerator operates separately from each other.  This is not an uncommon scenario, and one side can not only fail but also be fixed.

My dishwasher is not completely cleaning my dishes.

Please make sure you are using the proper amount of detergent.  There have been many times we have gone out only to find too much dish products being used that impares proper cleaning.  If your dishwasher is not draining correctly, make sure debris in and around the bottom part (drain pump) is removed.

Why does it take several times to run my dryer in order to dry my clothes?

There could be several issues surrounding that, but we always recommend checking your dryer vents.  Make sure they are clear! One way to test is to unhook the dryer vent from the machine and run the dryer, if the clothes dry well than you know there is something clogging your dryer.
